Summary
Oil-spill recovery technology, vessels and support services were proposed by OSR Systems of Victoria, Canada (in partnership with the multinational Keppel Group) to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore.
The proposal included a detailed explanation of the technology accompanied by working models of the actual oil spill recovery equipment and support vessels.
These resources were to be operationally deployed to protect the marine and coastal environments in and around the Port of Singapore, as well as the busy commercial waterway between Singapore and Malaysia — known as the Strait of Malacca.
