The Kuwait City Municipality launched an international competition for the design, development, delivery, and support of a comprehensive Utility Management System (KUDAMS), which would provide a basis for the long-term management of electricity, gas, telecommunications, water, and sewage facilities (based on GIS technology and aerial photographic data) throughout Kuwait City.
The Intergraph Corporation (now known as Hexagon Geospatial) partnered with the Mitsui Corporation and Asia Air Surveys to provide the winning proposal for a project that was successfully implemented over a six year period.
